So I have my new iMac... and I must say that I am extremely pleased with it. I think I can safely say that I don't think I will ever go back to Windows having now used Mac OS X.
So anyway the other day I decided that I would have a bash at making a new wallpaper for it, as wide-screen wallpapers that I liked the look of were fairly limited. So I decided to have a look at
skins.be and found
this one of Kate Beckinsale that I really liked the look of, but I thought it was a little dim, and slightly dreary. Then I remembered a tutorial that I saw on displacement in computer arts magazine, written by dA's very own =
wirestyle. SO then I started on a 3 hour (ish) project, to liven up this picture, and as you can see by my current desktop screen, I got a fairly satisfactory result...
Then on Saturday night I was sat about waiting for a download to finish and I started doing some sketches after being inspired by some sketches of *
Sam-M, and I will probably at some point upload these, when I get around to scanning, and colouring them.
Today after further searching on dA, I found myself wanting to do some vector artwork, something which I haven't been hugely compelled to do for quite some time now. So I found a really good photo of again Kate Beckinsale, to use as a reference, and started playing around doing a new vector, which I'm fairly pleased with, as I was able to spend quite a bit of time on it, what with the Easter weekend.
Also, as you have probably have noticed by this stage, I have been playing with the CSS function in Journals.
So it seems that after all of my whining about the fact that I thought that dA had gone down-hill, I feel as though I should now retract the comment, as it seems that there is still some bloody good art on here still, but I just wasn't looking it the right place...
